What is a U.S. Student Visa?
If you’re planning to go study full-time in the U.S. and attend a university, college, school, seminary, conservatory, or any other academic institution, you will need to apply for an F-1 student visa. Language courses are also included under this program.
In order to qualify for a student visa, the educational institution you plan to attend must be approved under the SEVP (Student and Exchange Visitor Program), and you must be registered in SEVIS.
To prove your registration, you will also need to provide the receipt for your SEVIS fee.
National students from any of the Visa Waiver Program countries cannot travel on an ESTA for university studies and are required to get a Student visa. If all of this feels a little overwhelming, don’t worry - our travel consultants will help you through the whole process, from start to finish.
